Neurotrophic Tyrosine Receptor Kinase 1 (NTRK1) is a critical membrane-bound enzyme mediating neural development through NGF signaling. Its genetic alterations underlie both rare congenital neuropathies like CIPA as well as numerous cancers via oncogenic fusion proteins—a fact now leveraged therapeutically using precision oncology approaches targeting its aberrant activity.
