Target intelligence / Profile preview
Neurotrophic tyrosine receptor kinase 2 (NTRK2), also known as TrkB, is a membrane-bound receptor tyrosine kinase that plays a crucial role in the development and function of the nervous system. It is a high-affinity catalytic receptor for BDNF, NT-4, and NT-3, activating intracellular signaling cascades involved in neuronal survival, differentiation, and synaptic plasticity. NTRK2/TrkB dysregulation is implicated in neurological disorders and its gene fusions act as oncogenic drivers across diverse cancers.
