Overview

NTRK3 encodes the TrkC receptor tyrosine kinase, which is activated by NT-3 and plays a crucial role in nervous system development, function, and also plays a role in heart development. NTRK3 fusions are oncogenic drivers across diverse cancers and are targetable with selective TRK inhibitors. Aberrant TrkC activity has been implicated in neurodegenerative diseases.
