Overview

The NF-kappa B (NF-κB) signaling pathway refers to a family of transcription factors that function as dimers and play a central role in regulating genes involved in immunity, inflammation, cell survival, and other critical cellular processes. The pathway is highly conserved and acts as a key mediator linking external or internal stress signals to gene expression changes. Dysregulation contributes to chronic inflammatory diseases, autoimmune disorders, cancer progression/metastasis due its roles in promoting survival signals and inflammatory gene expression.
