Target intelligence / Profile preview
NFYC pseudogene 1 is a genomic region classified as a pseudogene due to its similarity to the NFYC gene but lack of protein-coding potential. Pseudogenes like NFYCP1 are generally considered non-functional remnants of gene duplication or retrotransposition events. While some pseudogenes have regulatory roles, there is no evidence that NFYCP1 is expressed or functionally significant. NFYCP1 is not considered a therapeutic target, receptor, enzyme, transporter, or other class of actionable molecule; thus, it is usually excluded from lists of drug targets and clinical biomarkers.
