Mechanism of action

Inhibition of the final step of NAD+ biosynthesis by blocking the ATP-dependent amidation of nicotinic acid adenine dinucleotide (NaAD+), leading to NAD+ depletion and bacterial cell death [3.3.1, 3.3.5].
