Overview

NHL repeat-containing protein 3 (NHLRC3) is a protein encoded by the NHLRC3 gene, and contains distinctive NCL-1, HT2A, and Lin-41 (NHL) protein family repeats[1][2][3][7]. NHL-repeat containing proteins in mammals are predicted to function primarily in enzymatic processes, in particular protein modification such as ubiquitination, through their putative ubiquitin-protein ligase activity[4][5][6]. NHLRC3 is listed as a protein-coding gene and displays alternative splicing, but there is currently no experimental evidence for a direct role in human disease, nor is it considered a validated therapeutic target[2][7]. Its functional associations include predicted involvement in the innate immune system and protein catabolism, but specific biological or clinical applications remain undefined[2][5].
