The nicotinic acetylcholine receptor (nAChR) alpha3beta2 subtype is a neuronal nAChR that responds to acetylcholine and nicotine. It is a pentameric ligand-gated ion channel found in the central and peripheral nervous systems. Upon ligand binding, it allows cation influx, mediating fast synaptic transmission.
