Target intelligence / Profile preview
NIPAL1 pseudogene 1 (NIPAL1P1) is a genomic locus classified as a pseudogene related by sequence similarity to the NIPA-Like domain containing 1 (NIPAL1) gene, a magnesium transporter. NIPAL1P1 does not encode a functional protein and is not considered a therapeutic target or receptor. Pseudogenes such as NIPAL1P1 may occasionally influence gene regulation, but there are currently no data linking NIPAL1P1 to specific molecular functions, disease mechanisms, or therapeutic applications. Please note this is distinct from the protein-coding gene NIPAL1, which is involved in magnesium ion transport and has potential disease associations, but NIPAL1P1 itself is not a druggable target.
