Target intelligence / Profile preview
NKAP domain containing 1 (NKAPD1) is a human protein encoded by the NKAPD1 gene located on chromosome 11q23.1. It contains the NKAP domain (NF-kappa-B-activating protein) and a lysine-rich region immediately afterward. NKAPD1 is expressed ubiquitously at moderate levels, with higher expression in the brain and thyroid. It has several transcript variants that encode different isoforms. The functional role of NKAPD1 remains largely uncharacterized; although structurally related to NKAP and inferred to participate in nuclear functions and protein-protein interactions, no direct biological activities or disease links are established for NKAPD1 specifically.
Not applicable; no drugs targeting this protein are known.
