Overview

NLR family pyrin domain containing 13 (NLRP13) is a member of the NOD-like receptor (NLR) family characterized by an N-terminal pyrin domain, a central NACHT domain, a NACHT-associated domain (NAD), and a C-terminal leucine-rich repeat region. Like other NLRPs, it is believed to be involved in intracellular immune signaling, potentially regulating the formation of inflammasomes. However, unlike several well-studied NLRP family members, the specific biological function or disease involvement of NLRP13 is currently unknown. There are no established roles in pathology, validated interacting drugs, or clinical biomarkers attributed to this molecule[1][3][4]. NLRP13 is a protein-coding gene of the NLR family with a hypothesized role in inflammation and innate immunity via pattern recognition, but no specific function, biological pathway, or clinical link has been described in the literature. Its function and significance as a therapeutic target remain unestablished as of the latest data[1][3][4].
