Target intelligence / Profile preview
NME2 pseudogene 1 (NME2P1) is a non-coding pseudogene related to the NME2 gene, which encodes nucleoside diphosphate kinase 2. Unlike functional protein-coding genes, NME2 pseudogene 1 does not produce an active protein product. While pseudogenes can participate in regulatory networks influencing gene expression (such as acting as miRNA decoys or sources of regulatory RNAs), there is currently no evidence that NME2 pseudogene 1 is a therapeutic target, nor is there strong evidence linking it directly to any diseases or describing a functional protein product. It is listed in genetic databases as a pseudogene rather than an active gene or protein.
