The label "No defined molecular target" is not the name of a molecule, receptor, protein, or any biological entity that could be targeted pharmacologically; instead, it is a generic placeholder used when a drug, compound, or approach does not interact with a specific, characterized target. For instance, in pharmacology tables or bioactivity profiling, "No defined molecular target" is sometimes presented for compounds whose mechanism is not well understood, or that act through epigenetic regulation, broad-spectrum enzyme inhibition, or nonspecific cellular mechanisms[1]. Such entries should be replaced with the actual molecular target once elucidated or removed from lists of potential targets.
