Overview

NOC3 like DNA replication regulator (NOC3L) is a protein-coding gene encoding a human homolog of yeast Noc3p. It is involved in initiating DNA replication and is predicted to enable RNA binding and chromatin binding activities. NOC3L acts upstream of biological processes such as fat cell (adipocyte) differentiation and may be required for adipogenesis. It is located in cellular compartments including the mitochondrion, nucleolus, and nucleoplasm. Diseases associated with NOC3L include nephrotic syndrome and brachydactyly; research also implicates potential roles in cancer due to its ties to cell proliferation and DNA replication[1][2][4][8][9][10]. No approved drugs currently target NOC3L, and it is not a therapeutic target as of current knowledge[1][8][9][10].
