Target intelligence / Profile preview
Non-bulbar dermal sheath fibroblasts (NBDS cells) are a specialized subpopulation of fibroblast-like cells derived from the dermal sheath of hair follicles, specifically the region above the bulb and below the sebaceous gland canal. They are mesenchymal in origin and characterized by their morphology, location, and collagen production capabilities. NBDS cells are involved in ECM support and wound healing, and they are being explored for therapeutic applications in skin and tendon regeneration.
