Non-receptor protein tyrosine kinases (nRTKs) are cytosolic enzymes that catalyze the transfer of a phosphate group from ATP to tyrosine residues on substrate proteins. They play central roles in signal transduction for immune receptors and regulation of cell growth, proliferation, differentiation, adhesion, migration, and apoptosis. Dysregulation can lead to immunodeficiencies or contribute to oncogenesis. Examples include HCK, CSK, Lck, Lyn, and Zap70. They participate in immune system pathways, including chemokine and T cell receptor signaling pathways.
