This mechanism is primarily utilized by astringents, cauterants, and certain antiseptics to achieve localized therapeutic effects such as hemostasis, tissue destruction, or antimicrobial action (PubMed, PMID: 25607706). For instance, silver nitrate and ferric subsulfate act by precipitating these proteins to stop bleeding or treat minor skin lesions (NIH, PubChem).
