Overview

NOP10 ribonucleoprotein pseudogene refers to a pseudogene with sequence similarity to the functional NOP10 ribonucleoprotein gene. Unlike the protein-coding NOP10, which participates as an essential component of the H/ACA small nucleolar ribonucleoprotein (snoRNP) complex for rRNA modification and telomere maintenance[1][2][4][5][6], the pseudogene form is presumed non-functional: it does not encode a protein and is not implicated in canonical snoRNP activities. No validated data support a role for the NOP10 pseudogene as a therapeutic target, biomarker, or drug-interacting molecule. Its presence in genomic databases may serve as a reference for evolutionary analysis or gene annotation studies but does not imply clinical or biological relevance akin to the protein-coding NOP10 gene.
