Novel Cancer-Specific Antigen Pair

Molecular classification
Cell Surface Protein, Tumor-Specific Antigen
01

Overview

A novel cancer-specific antigen pair consists of two antigens that are uniquely or predominantly expressed on cancer cells, with minimal expression on normal tissues. This combinatorial approach is used to improve the specificity and efficacy of targeted therapies like CAR-T cell therapy and antibody-drug conjugates, enhancing tumor discrimination and reducing off-tumor toxicity. Examples of antigen pairs include CEA/MSLN or KREMEN2 combined with a clinical target.

02

Mechanism of action

Binding to antigen pair leads to targeted cell killing or immune activation (e.g., CAR-T cell activation). Logic-gated therapies increase specificity.
