Most information is limited to its annotation as a lncRNA, and there are no established roles in human biology or disease, nor is it known to interact with drugs or act as a biomarker. This lncRNA target should not be confused with GJA3 (Gap Junction Protein Alpha 3; connexin 46), which is a protein-coding gene and a structural component of gap junctions in the eye lens and is involved in maintaining lens transparency and related to congenital cataract when mutated.
