Overview

Cis-natural antisense transcripts (cis-NATs) function primarily by regulating the expression of their sense gene partner (here, RPL19) through diverse mechanisms, including transcriptional interference, RNA masking, and modulation of RNA stability[7]. There is currently no evidence that this transcript encodes a protein, is druggable, or is considered a direct therapeutic target[1][5].
