Target intelligence / Profile preview
This target is a long non-coding RNA transcript antisense to the TRDN (Triadin) gene, known as ENSG00000285691 in the Ensembl database. It does not encode a protein and is not a classical molecular target. Antisense transcripts may modulate gene expression of their sense counterparts; in the mouse, a similar transcript (TRDN-AS) helps regulate the ratio of cardiac and skeletal isoforms of Triadin, which is critical for calcium signaling in muscle tissue. No direct disease role, drug interactions, or biomarker status is established for the human transcript, but its location raises the possibility of regulatory roles affecting TRDN, itself important in cardiovascular and muscular disease.
