Novel tripartite motif-containing protein family pseudogene

The novel tripartite motif-containing protein family pseudogene (ENSG00000286916) is a predicted pseudogene in the human genome that shares sequence homology with the TRIM (tripartite motif-containing) protein family. Pseudogenes are sequences derived from ancestral functional genes that have accumulated mutations disrupting their coding potential, rendering them typically non-functional. While some pseudogenes can be transcribed and may play regulatory roles at the RNA level, including acting as miRNA decoys or sources of regulatory noncoding RNAs, there is no evidence that ENSG00000286916 has such activity.
