NR4A1 antisense RNA 1 (NR4A1-AS1, also known as NR4A1AS, lncMMPA, and M2 macrophage polarization associated lncRNA) is a long non-coding antisense RNA transcribed from the opposite DNA strand of the NR4A1 (Nuclear receptor subfamily 4 group A member 1) gene. It does not encode a protein but is thought to regulate the expression of NR4A1, a nuclear receptor and transcription factor involved in cell proliferation, apoptosis, metabolism, and immune responses, including macrophage polarization.
