NR4A1 antisense RNA 1 (NR4A1-AS1, also known as NR4A1AS, lncMMPA, and M2 macrophage polarization associated lncRNA) is a long non-coding antisense RNA transcribed from the opposite DNA strand of the NR4A1 (Nuclear receptor subfamily 4 group A member 1) gene. Mechanism of action

As a long non-coding RNA, NR4A1-AS1 is believed to regulate the transcription of the adjacent NR4A1 gene via antisense mechanisms, potentially modulating NR4A1 expression by direct transcriptional interference or through changing chromatin structure.
