Overview

NRXN1 divergent transcript (NRXN1-DT, also known as AK127244) is a long non-coding RNA located adjacent to the promoter of the Neurexin 1 (NRXN1) gene. Genomic deletions involving NRXN1-DT have been associated with neuropsychiatric disorders, including autism spectrum disorder and schizophrenia. The biological function of NRXN1-DT remains unknown, although its expression pattern in the brain suggests a putative role in neurodevelopmental processes. Presently, NRXN1-DT is not considered a therapeutic target, and no drugs are known to interact with this transcript[1].
