Overview

NTM antisense RNA 3 (NTM-AS3) is a long non-coding RNA gene in humans, classified as a natural antisense transcript. It is transcribed from the genomic region antisense to the Neurotrimin (NTM) gene, but its biological function and disease associations have not been clearly established as of current knowledge. Like other antisense lncRNAs, NTM-AS3 may play potential roles in regulating gene expression through RNA-RNA or RNA-chromatin interactions, but there are no studies specifically characterizing its function, relevance in disease, or therapeutic utility[2][4][5]. No interacting drugs, biomarker uses, or direct involvement in disease processes are currently documented for NTM-AS3. Its classification is therefore limited to “long non-coding RNA” and “natural antisense transcript,” and it should not be considered a druggable therapeutic target based on current information.

Mechanism of action

Not applicable for NTM-AS3 as a therapeutic target; its general mechanisms as an antisense RNA are theorized to include regulating gene expression by binding complementary mRNA, affecting stability or translation, and influencing local chromatin state and transcription.
