NTSR1 antisense RNA 1 (NTSR1-AS1)

Target
NTSR1-AS1
Molecular classification
Other, Long non-coding RNA (lncRNA)
01

Overview

NTSR1 antisense RNA 1 (NTSR1-AS1) is a human long non-coding RNA gene that is transcribed antisense to the NTSR1 (neurotensin receptor 1) gene. As an antisense lncRNA, it is presumed to play a potential role in the regulation of its neighboring gene (NTSR1), possibly impacting transcription, mRNA stability, or chromatin structure, but there are currently no published data demonstrating a specific molecular function, disease association, or utility as a therapeutic target or biomarker for NTSR1-AS1 in humans. No aliases, disease links, or interacting drugs are presently established for this lncRNA.

02

Biological functions

Currently uncharacterized or not well-defined; likely transcriptional regulation or epigenetic modulation based on known roles of antisense lncRNAs, but specific functions for NTSR1-AS1 are not described in standard gene/protein databases
03

Disease associations

Other (no direct evidence in cancer, inflammation, or major disease roles from the sources reviewed)
