The Nuclear factor kappa-light-chain-enhancer of activated B cells p65 subunit, also known as RELA or p65, is a crucial component of the NF-κB transcription factor complex. It plays a central role in regulating immune responses, inflammation, cell growth, and survival. NF-κB is activated by a wide range of stimuli, including cytokines, stress, and bacterial or viral antigens. The p65 subunit forms heterodimers with other NF-κB subunits, such as p50, to translocate to the nucleus and activate gene transcription. Its dysregulation is associated with various diseases, including cancer and inflammatory disorders.
