Target intelligence / Profile preview
Nuclear factor of kappa light polypeptide gene enhancer in B-cells inhibitor delta (NFKBID) is a nuclear protein of 327 amino acids belonging to the atypical nuclear inhibitors of NF-κB. It regulates NF-κB transcription factor activity, impacting immune responses, germinal center formation, and the development and function of B cells, plasma cells, and certain T cell populations. NFKBID functions as both inducer and inhibitor of NF-κB-dependent gene expression and is required for immunosuppressive regulatory T cell generation. Its deficiency or dysfunction has been linked to immune dysregulation and deficiency syndromes.
Drugs affecting downstream NF-κB signaling may modulate NFKBID activity indirectly (activation or inhibition of NF-κB cascade)
