Nuclear pore associated protein 1 pseudogene 7 (NPAP1P7) is a non-functional genetic element in humans, classified as a pseudogene due to its sequence similarity to the nuclear pore associated protein 1 (NPAP1) gene, but lacking coding ability due to internal mutations. Pseudogenes do not encode active proteins, are not used as therapeutic targets, and are largely regarded as non-coding “junk DNA,” although recent research shows some pseudogenes can have regulatory functions. There is no evidence NPAP1P7 is functional, involved in human disease, or interacts with any drugs.
