NPIPB11 (Nuclear pore complex-interacting protein family member B11) is a member of the NPIP gene family found in humans (Homo sapiens) and encoded by the NPIPB11 gene. These proteins are predicted to localize in the nuclear envelope and are implicated in nuclear pore complex biology by sequence annotation, but their biological roles, disease relevance, and druggability remain obscure. NPIP family members have been detected by proteomics methods, but functional characterization is lacking. NPIPB11 is not classified as a nucleoporin (Nup), receptor, or enzyme, and its expression or disease relevance is not well understood. There are no reports of drug interactions, clinical implications, or biomarker use. This protein’s alias as "hepatitis B virus pre-pre-S promoter DNA-binding protein" and "pps22-1 protein" possibly reflects findings in specialized studies unrelated to mainstream therapeutics or nuclear transport research.
