Nuclear receptor subfamily 1 group D member 2 (NR1D2), also known as Rev-ErbAβ or REV-ERBβ, is a transcriptional repressor that plays key roles in regulating circadian rhythms, carbohydrate and lipid metabolism, mitochondrial function in skeletal muscle, and inflammatory responses. It belongs to the nuclear hormone receptor family and regulates gene expression by binding to specific DNA motifs, often in conjunction with corepressors. Heme acts as an endogenous ligand that modulates its activity.
