Nuclear RNA export factor 4 (NXF4) is annotated as a pseudogene in the human genome and is not known to encode a functional protein. While the NXF (nuclear RNA export factor) family generally includes proteins involved in mRNA nuclear export (such as NXF1, NXF2, NXF3), NXF4 itself is not functionally characterized and is classified as a pseudogene in multiple authoritative sources. It does not appear in current research as a protein-coding gene, nor as a therapeutic target, nor is it associated with any drug interactions, disease relevance, or biomarker function. Therefore, NXF4 is considered an incorrect target as it is not therapeutically relevant, is not a functionally characterized protein, and is officially a pseudogene in the human genome. For therapeutically relevant nuclear RNA export factors, NXF1 (TAP) is the major and canonical member of this family.
