Target intelligence / Profile preview
NUMA1 antisense RNA 1 (NUMA1-AS1) is a long noncoding RNA gene expressed antisense to the nuclear mitotic apparatus protein 1 (NUMA1) locus. Like other lncRNA antisense transcripts, it may function in gene regulation at the transcriptional or posttranscriptional level, potentially influencing NUMA1 gene expression through mechanisms such as transcriptional interference, chromatin remodeling, or RNA-mediated silencing, although no experimentally validated roles are confirmed for NUMA1-AS1 to date. NUMA1-AS1’s sequence, expression pattern, and physiological significance remain largely uncharacterized in the current scientific literature.
Not applicable; no drugs are known to act on this molecule.
