NUS1P2 is a pseudogene of the NUS1 gene, which encodes the Nogo-B receptor (NgBR) and functions as a subunit of the cis-prenyltransferase complex involved in protein glycosylation and cholesterol trafficking[1][3][5]. The NUS1P2 pseudogene does not code for a functional protein and there is no evidence to suggest it plays a direct role in biological pathways, disease, or drug targeting. Pseudogenes are typically non-functional DNA segments derived from parental genes, and NUS1P2 is identified as such in genomic databases[1]. NUS1 itself is a functional gene with roles in glycosylation, cholesterol transport, and neurological disease[1][3][5], but NUS1P2 is not considered a therapeutic target, receptor, enzyme, transporter, or otherwise druggable entity.
