Target intelligence / Profile preview
O-acetyl-GD2 ganglioside is a modified form of the GD2 ganglioside, characterized by an O-acetyl group added to the terminal sialic acid residue. It exhibits restricted expression in normal tissues but is highly expressed in several tumors, including neuroblastoma, melanoma, and breast cancer stem cells. OAcGD2 is a target for antibody-based therapies and CAR-T cell therapy due to its tumor-specific expression, offering a potentially improved safety profile compared to therapies targeting unmodified GD2.
Antibody-dependent cell-mediated cytotoxicity (ADCC), complement-dependent cytotoxicity (CDC), direct apoptosis induction
