Occlusion of endoleak cavity refers to a vascular intervention procedure used to treat endoleaks, which are complications that occur after endovascular aneurysm repair (EVAR) for aortic aneurysms. An endoleak is defined as persistent blood flow outside a stent graft but within the aneurysm sac, risking continued pressurization and possible rupture of the aneurysm sac. Occlusion of the endoleak cavity is typically achieved via embolization, in which materials (such as glue, coils, or liquid embolics) are introduced into the endoleak cavity through percutaneous or endovascular approaches to block abnormal blood flow and seal the space. This is a clinical or procedural term, not a molecular or pharmacological target.
