Overview

OCIAD1 antisense RNA 1 (OCIAD1-AS1) is a human long non-coding RNA transcribed from the antisense strand to the OCIAD1 gene locus[1][7]. It is classified as an antisense lncRNA, and while it has been associated with CD45 deficiency, its precise biological functions, molecular mechanisms, and clinical relevance remain largely uncharacterized[1]. There is no current evidence that OCIAD1-AS1 is a direct therapeutic target, nor are there known drugs or mechanisms of action targeting this RNA specifically. The protein-coding gene OCIAD1, to which this lncRNA is antisense, functions in mitochondrial biology and cell differentiation, but the functional relationship between OCIAD1-AS1 and OCIAD1 has not been elucidated[3][5].
