ODF2 antisense RNA 1 (ODF2-AS1) is a long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) transcribed from the antisense strand of the ODF2 gene locus. It belongs to the class of natural antisense transcripts and does not encode a protein. As with other long antisense RNAs, its main biological activity is to regulate gene expression by forming complementary base pairs with the sense (protein-coding) mRNA from the ODF2 gene, thereby modulating its stability, translation, or chromatin state[1][2]. While ODF2-AS1 specifically has not been widely reported as a therapeutic target or associated with major disease phenotypes, antisense lncRNAs in general can act as regulators in cancer and other diseases through epigenetic or transcriptional mechanisms[2]. No direct information is available about pharmacological targeting, interacting drugs, or biomarker status for ODF2-AS1 as of now.
