Target intelligence / Profile preview
AS03 is an oil-in-water emulsion adjuvant system used in vaccines to enhance immune responses. It is composed of squalene, α-tocopherol (vitamin E), and polysorbate 80. AS03 is designed to boost both the magnitude and quality of the immune response to vaccine antigens, allowing for antigen-sparing strategies and improved protection against infectious diseases. It activates multiple innate immune pathways, induces local inflammation, and enhances antigen uptake and presentation by APCs, ultimately leading to enhanced antibody and T cell responses.
Activates innate immunity; enhances adaptive antibody/memory B cell/T cell responses through local inflammation, ER stress, cytokine induction, and improved APC function
