Oleoyl-acyl-carrier-protein hydrolase (OLAH) is an enzyme that catalyzes the hydrolysis of oleoyl-[acyl-carrier-protein] to release free oleate and acyl carrier protein, functioning in the medium-chain fatty acid biosynthetic process[2][3][1][5]. It acts broadly on substrates with chain lengths between 10 and 16 carbons. OLAH is predicted to localize in the cytosol and enables fatty acyl-[ACP] hydrolase activity. The gene is associated with pathologies such as rheumatoid arthritis and other diseases, with roles in metabolic and fatty acyl-CoA biosynthesis pathways. OLAH is also referred to by synonyms including THEDC1 and AURA1, and its UniProt identifier is Q9NV23[3].
