Olfactory receptor 13C3 (OR13C3) is a member of the large olfactory receptor family in humans, encoded by the *OR13C3* gene. This receptor is a G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) with a canonical 7-transmembrane domain structure, responsible for recognizing odorant molecules in the nose and initiating neuronal signaling for the sense of smell. Olfactory receptors, including OR13C3, mediate the recognition and transduction of chemical signals from the environment via G protein-mediated pathways. This gene family is the largest in the human genome. OR13C3, like most olfactory receptors, is primarily implicated in sensory transduction rather than as a druggable therapeutic target or clinically recognized biomarker[2][5][7][3].
