Olfactory receptor 2J2 is a G protein-coupled receptor expressed in olfactory sensory neurons, characterized by a seven transmembrane domain structure. It interacts with specific odorant molecules in the nose—such as 1-Octanol, 1-Nonanol, and Coumarin—to initiate a neuronal response that triggers the perception of smell.
