Olfactory receptor 51F2 (OR51F2) is a member of the olfactory receptor family in humans, encoded by the *OR51F2* gene[8]. It is a **G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR)** with a characteristic 7-transmembrane domain structure, responsible for recognizing odorant molecules in the nose and initiating G protein-mediated signal transduction to trigger smell perception[2][8]. Olfactory receptors form the largest protein family in the human genome, and are primarily expressed in sensory neurons of the olfactory epithelium[2][8]. OR51F2 is part of the rhodopsin-like (Class A) subgroup of GPCRs[3][5][6]. While expression of some olfactory receptors outside the olfactory system has been reported and implicated in disease, there is currently no direct evidence for a defined role of OR51F2 as a therapeutic, diagnostic, or prognostic target beyond its function in olfaction[6][8].
