Olfactory receptor 7A10 (OR7A10) is a member of the large olfactory receptor family in humans. These proteins are G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) with a characteristic 7-transmembrane domain structure. Olfactory receptors, including OR7A10, are primarily responsible for detecting odorant molecules in the nasal epithelium, initiating a neuronal response resulting in the perception of smell. OR7A10 is encoded by a single-exon gene and belongs to the Class A (Rhodopsin-like) GPCR superfamily, the largest gene family in the human genome. Although the primary role for OR7A10 is sensory transduction in the olfactory system, some olfactory receptors have been implicated in physiological functions outside the nose, though no therapeutic uses or drug targets are reported for OR7A10 specifically. There are no documented drugs, clinical biomarkers, or major disease associations directly involving this receptor [1][2][3][6][12][13].
