Olfactory receptor family 10 subfamily G member 8 (OR10G8) is a protein encoded by the *OR10G8* gene in humans. It belongs to the large family of olfactory receptors, which are G protein-coupled receptors with a characteristic seven-transmembrane domain structure. OR10G8 functions by binding odorant molecules in the nose, initiating a neuronal response that ultimately triggers the perception of smell. Its primary biological role lies within the olfactory epithelium, contributing to odor recognition and signal transduction through G proteins. The olfactory receptor gene family is the largest in the human genome, reflecting the diversity and specificity of odor detection.
