Olfactory receptor family 10 subfamily G member 8 (OR10G8) is a protein encoded by the *OR10G8* gene in humans. It belongs to the large family of olfactory receptors, which are G protein-coupled receptors with a characteristic seven-transmembrane domain structure. OR10G8 functions by binding odorant molecules in the nose, initiating a neuronal response that ultimately triggers the perception of smell. Its primary biological role lies within the olfactory epithelium, contributing to odor recognition and signal transduction through G proteins. The olfactory receptor gene family is the largest in the human genome, reflecting the diversity and specificity of odor detection. There is no evidence that OR10G8 is involved in major diseases, used as a drug target, or is associated with major therapeutic interventions
