Overview

OR10J5 (olfactory receptor family 10 subfamily J member 5) is a G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) primarily expressed in the olfactory epithelium, where it detects odorant molecules such as lyral and α-cedrene to mediate the sense of smell. In addition to its traditional olfactory role, OR10J5 is expressed in non-olfactory tissues (e.g., endothelial cells, hepatocytes). It participates in processes such as angiogenesis (via AKT pathway activation), regulation of cell migration, and control of lipid metabolism via cAMP-PKA signaling in hepatocytes. While of research interest for these non-canonical roles, it is not currently a therapeutic drug target and has no established disease associations.
