Olfactory receptor family 10 subfamily J member 6 pseudogene (OR10J6P) is a putative olfactory receptor gene classified as a pseudogene in humans. While the olfactory receptor gene family (including functional genes) encodes G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) responsible for odor detection in the olfactory epithelium[4][5][6][7], OR10J6P itself does not encode a functional protein and lacks known biological or pharmacological activity. Pseudogenes arise from gene duplication or retrotransposition events and typically have lost the ability to encode a protein due to mutations, deletions, or truncations.
