Olfactory receptor family 10 subfamily J member 7 pseudogene (OR10J7P) is classified as a pseudogene within the human genome. Although olfactory receptors generally function as G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) involved in odorant recognition and signal transduction in the olfactory system, OR10J7P does not encode a functional protein due to mutations or disruptions in its sequence, which is evidenced by the lack of coding exons.
