Olfactory receptor family 10 subfamily T member 2 (OR10T2) is a human protein encoded by the OR10T2 gene and functions as an olfactory receptor in the nasal epithelium[1][7][8]. OR10T2 is a member of the large family of G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) that possess a characteristic seven-transmembrane domain structure shared with many neurotransmitter and hormone receptors[1][7]. These receptors are responsible for the initial interaction with odorant molecules, leading to a neuronal response and ultimately triggering the perception of smell through G protein-mediated transduction pathways[1][7][8].
